$73 million in grants for 21 projects to increase competition.
U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack recently announced that $73 million is being made available to expand meat and poultry processing capacity. Twenty-one grant projects will receive the funding, helping independent meat processors promote competition while strengthening America’s meat supply chain for both consumers and producers.
“By jumpstarting independent processing projects and increasing processing capacity, these investments create more opportunities for farmers and ranchers to get a fair price, while strengthening supply chains, delivering more food produced closer to home for families, expanding economic opportunity, and creating jobs in rural America,” said Secretary Vilsack.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Vilsack to seek God’s direction as he oversees the grant program to support competition.
- For USDA officials as they support meat and poultry producers and processors.
- For the president and his administration as they work to strengthen the food supply chain.
